Join the North Texas Region of ASSIST in Ferris, TX for the ASSIST Shootout Competition 2026 at the TDSA Range. One day of competition on 4 to 5 shooting courses.

The ASSIST Shootout Competition 2026 is one day of competition, and fellowship among Texas private security and private investigations professionals. Come out and support us! All money collected will go to the ASSIST Fallen Officer Fund.

What to expect
4 to 5 shooting courses – you must bring your own gun and ammo (150 rounds). You gun must be in a holster or in a gun case.

Visit Lubbock, TX
Lubbock is a city in northwest Texas known as the birthplace of rock ’n’ roll legend Buddy Holly. The Buddy Holly Center celebrates his life and music with artifacts and mementos. Nearby is the West Texas Walk of Fame, with a statue of Holly and plaques honoring musicians from the region. The Museum of Texas Tech University houses millions of objects of art, history and paleontology, plus the Moody Planetarium.
Getting to Lubbock
By air: Fly into Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport (LBB), then take a short drive to the Overton Hotel & Conference Center.
By car: Lubbock is easily accessible by highway from across the Panhandle and surrounding regions.
Hotel Rooms
We recommend staying at the Overton Hotel for the easiest access to sessions, vendors, and networking. If a room block is available, book early. Rooms in Lubbock can fill up quickly during busy weeks.
Standard king and double queen rooms at $142 per night . Please note, all sleeping rooms are subject to 15% occupancy tax and $4.93 (plus sales tax) state cost recovery fee per room, per night. We also offer self-parking on site for $10 (plus tax) or valet parking for $25 (tax inclusive) per vehicle, per night.
The reservation cut-off date is April 29, 2026.
Guests can book online using the booking link or by calling our reservations office at 806.776.7000. Mention the block name “ASSIST Panhandle Region.”
The group page will auto-fill all block dates. Adjust check-in/check-out as needed and click UPDATE. A credit card is required to hold the reservation; it won’t be charged unless canceled after 4 PM the day before arrival. No-shows are charged one night plus tax.
At check-in, guests must present matching photo ID and a credit card for room, tax, and incidentals. The Overton places a $50 nightly incidental hold per room, released within 3–5 business days after checkout if unused.
For airport shuttle service, call the bell stand at 806.776.7000. The shuttle departs every hour and half hour. For pickup, provide your name, arrival date/time, and flight number—they’ll monitor your flight for delays.
