What we do
ASSIST is more than a once-a-year conference.
We are the only organization exclusively representing the private security and private investigation industries at the Texas State Capitol. Whether it is a legislative session, a DPS audit, or an unlicensed competitor undercutting your business, ASSIST is working for you every day of the year.

Legislative
Advocacy
Every session, we study every bill that affects the private security and private investigation industries, fighting against legislation that could harm your rights and pushing for laws that move the industry forward.

Legislator
Education
We work year-round with Texas lawmakers to make sure they understand the importance of a well-regulated private security industry and the role it plays in keeping Texas communities safe.

Regulatory
Collaboration
We work directly with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Private Security Advisory Committee to ensure that board rules reflect the true intent of the laws governing our industry.

Industry Resources &
Compliance
Navigating DPS audits and board rules can be complicated. Our compliance experts are available to help members understand their obligations, respond to auditors, and resolve issues without going it alone.

Professional
Development
From regional meetings to our annual convention, ASSIST provides ongoing opportunities to earn CE credits, learn best practices, discover new technology, and connect with fellow professionals across Texas.

Report Unlicensed
Activity
Illegal operators are a serious problem for licensed professionals. ASSIST gives members a direct way to report unlicensed activity and helps protect the integrity of the industry.
